The only thing I can think of that might be causing your problem is if permissions were set differently back in 2006 when you joined. They could have been changed during this time and you might not have recieved these permissions. I don't have access to the full functions of the form, nor would I know how to figure this out if I did.
You could create a new account, but you wouldn't get your name. You can set the name your article is published under, so it would still say "Will Heath" but I don't think it would show on your current profile that you wrote it, your name would still be credited to the article though. Just a thought...
