    New shoots

Iíve got two new shoots, one is almost as tall as my tree. What do I do with them? Iíve read that you can possibly graft them into the trunk to create another arm, is that true? Or do I dig them up and plant them in another pot? The tree is a ginseng ficus, it is about 18 inches high, Iíve had it for about 4 years, it was probably about 12 inches when I bought it. I live in Canada so it is purely an inside plant.
