    Desk top grow lights?

    Hello again everyone! im not sure if this is in the right area, but im looking to get a small, desktop grow light so i can keep one of my plants on my desk at work. What exactly should i be looking for? I want to keep a ficus , so what wattage should i use? do they make small desk top grow lights? thanx in advance for the help

    A Ficus will not need a lot of extra light, especially if you have overhead fluorescent lighting in your office. The compact fluorescent bulbs that they make for home use in lamps now are really good for a light source for plants. If you have a lamp on your desk, screw one of them into it and any Ficus will appreciate that.
    If you have fluorescent tubes over head the odds are that they are very 'white' in color temp. so you want to get a 'white' temp. for your desk as well to match. Get a "K" rating as high as possible and it will match those in your office.
