Grow bonsai under big white pine?

A 50 ft tall white pine shgades my deck. I have several bonsai under the big tree. A jade plant and a Morris Migdet box have some leaf browning. Could the pine be the cause?

In conclusion << A 50 ft tall white pine shades my deck. I've several bosnai under the big tree. A jade plant & a Morris Midget box have some leaf browning. Could the pine be the cause? >>

No. The only problem you shall have is lack of sunlight, especially for the jade plant.

Have you ever parked your car under a tree and ended up with what some refer to as "sap" misting your car???
Keeping them under any tree can have a negative effect especially during the established trees' growth period. All trees give off a chemical defense called alelopathy. It is to keep any plants from growing under them and competing for nutrients. Conifers and most evergreens are particularly bad about this.
However, having stated that.....As long as you mist your bonsai frequently and water them from the top they should be okay. I suspect that JATMAN is probably correct, "inadequate sunlight".
