When should I start trimming this little guy - 2009/11/03 05:20
Hi bin4ry, welcome to the forums...funny, thats the same kit that originaly pushed me into bonsai...though my seeds never sprouted I ended up reading more and buying a alredy started bonsai...this will take a few years before you will be able to prune at all, and come spring time it needs to go outside and stay outside, they are outdoor trees...look at tropicals such as ficus or fukien tea for an indoor tree...while you wait for this one to grow up do as much reading on bonsai as you can, and look into getting a started tree to play with to learn the basics then when this one is old enough you will know how to prune and shape it alredy...walmart sell some cheap "S" shaped bonsai which would be a cheap place to start
