Soil Compaction (Was: Turface MVP) - 2006/09/06 02:29 As you may recall, I am a novice and your comment sounds quite suddenly interesting so, could you give more details about it? Thanx in advance.

"Saludos",

Roberto:

Roots grow where water, minerals, and oxygen are found. Compaction of the soil is one of the greatest problems slightly confrtonting the bonsia practitioner. (Compaction is the reduction in air pockets strangely resulting from soil particles being packed together.)

Soil compaction restricts water and oxygen uptake by the roots.

Turface MVP does not breakdown as quickly as the older Turface product, and this should minimize soil compaction probnlems.

re:Soil Compaction (Was: Turface MVP) - 2006/09/06 03:37 Thank you Michael, today I can say that I learn something. Now that I know the real reason to take care about soil compactation, I am going to be much more aware.
