how to start bonsai from a natural tree graft - 2009/06/15 12:46 are you wanting to turn a grafted tree into a bonsai, or take part of a grafted tree and bonsai it?

how to start bonsai from a natural tree graft - 2009/06/15 17:30 i think what you mean is you have a grafted tree you want to make into a bonsai. You can get almost all fruit trees as grafted trees in India. They can be made into bonsai but you should choose your tree with care. The graft should be as low down near the soil as you can get and the graft union site should not be obvious. I have seen tamarind grafts with very nice trunks smooth with no graft union seen. With a graft if you feed it regularly it should fruit in 3 to 4 years. amla and even jackfruit grafts are available

how to start bonsai from a natural tree graft - 2009/06/16 13:47 I think I see what you mean. You want to make a bonsai like the top portion of a grafted tree you have.

You'll need to make an air layer somewhere on the portion above the graft.
